JOEL WALKER WILSON, 99, passed away on Sunday, October 15th, 2017 at his residence in Milton, FL. Joel was born in Cuba, AL, and moved to the area in 1928 from Shubuta, MS. He was a retired School teacher in Santa Rosa County for many years. Joel was a veteran of the Army Air Corp, and a former POW in Germany from 1944-1945.

He was a member of Bagdad Baptist Church in Bagdad FL where his father (H. D. Wilson) was the former pastor in the 1930's and 1940's, member of retired school teachers association. He was an avid gardener, loved deer hunting, fishing and outdoor activities, watching baseball and reading. He is predeceased his wife of 54 years, Florence Wilson; three sisters; Mary Brown, Maurine McCall and Janet Wilson; son, Donald Kevin Wilson. He is survived by his three daughters, Virginia Wilson, Diana Wilson-Hendrix, and Kim Wilson; son, Vance Joel Wilson, 8 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Friday, Oct 20th, from 9:30 – 10:00, with a celebration of life to follow at 10 AM, at National Cremation and Burial Society in Milton, FL.
