Gregory Quina Thorsen, 84, went to his heavenly home on August 20, 2017, after a brief illness. Born in Pensacola, Greg joined the United States Air Force after graduating from Catholic High School. After his military service, Greg received his bachelor's degree from Auburn University and worked as a computer analyst until his retirement. Greg was an active and faithful member of Hickory Hammock Baptist Church, where he served as a member of the choir and Bereans Men's Group, taught Sunday School, and volunteered with the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.

An avid horseman, Greg was a member of the American Paint Horse Association. His greatest enjoyment, however, came from spending time with his devoted wife Betty, his children, and grandchildren. His legacy to them will always be a life of serving his Lord Jesus Christ and helping others.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Henry B. and Rachel Quina Thorsen; his daughter Joyce Paglia; and his brother Louis Thorsen.

Greg leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 21 years, Betty Thorsen; his brothers, Henry Thorsen, Jr., Albert Thorsen (Mary Ann), John Thorsen (Lynn); his sisters, Annie Klipp and Rosemary Wilcox; sons, Greg Thorsen, Jr. (J. R.), Tim Thorsen, Michael Thorsen (Ashley), and Gary Thorsen; daughters, Mary Champitto (Tony), Catherine Morgan, Christina Thorsen, and Rachel Thorsen, stepchildren, Brenda Golden, Tequila Anderson, Rhonda Buck, Johnny Horton, Gregory Blackmon, Craig Blackmon, Nichole Virts, and Tammy Stanfield; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Hickory Hammock Baptist Church on Sunday, August 27, at 2 p.m.
